    Woodmar Farm is a country hamlet on the outskirts of Purcellville, VA. It is located to the south of Purcellville’s historic downtown. Developed and built by K. Hovnanian Homes, there are six styles of houses to choose.

    This includes The Colorado, The Delaware, The Rhode Island, The Virginian II and The Alaska. All of Woodmar Farm’s lovely homes surround a beautiful lake and offer residents Mountain views.

    Schools

    Children of Woodmar Farms attend Purcellville’s public schools. Starting in one of the many elementary schools, children move on to either Blue Ridge or Harmony Middle School.

    Their education is finished at Louden Valley High School or Woodgrove High School. For those who wish to continue their education, Purcellville is the home of the Patrick Henry College.

    Wine Country

    Woodmar Farms has the distinction of being in the region of Virginia’s Wine Country. Among the numerous wineries open for visitors are Eight Chains North Vineyard, Sunset Hills Vineyard, North Gate Vineyard, and Louden Valley Vineyard.

    One can tour the grapes and where the wines are made and even try samples in many of these. There is also a private distillery in Purcellville, Catoctin Creek Distillery.

    Outdoor Activities

    Residents of Woodmar Farms can enjoy the great outdoors in a number of parks and recreational spots. The W&OD Trail runs directly through Purcellville.

    The miles of paved paths are ideal for joggers and walkers, as well as cyclists. Trails End Cycles is located in downtown, directly on the trail. They provide all of your biking needs.

    Franklin Park is another terrific outdoor area. From the pool in the summer months to the snowy fields of winter, there is always something fun to do. No matter what time of year it is the Purcellville Skating Rink provides old fashioned fun for all ages.

    Families enjoy visiting the Blue Ridge Center for Environmental Stewardship. Visitors can experience a working farm complete with farm animals of all varieties. Camping is available. Many trails are found on the property. They are scenic and easy enough for children to handle. One can find ponds, creeks, and woods while exploring the area.

    Because Woodmar Farms is located next to Purcellville there are many dining and shopping opportunities. Unique shops and boutiques can be found at Magnolias at Mill and in the historic district of Purcellville’s Downtown. There are also several old fashioned diners and cafes that are very quaint, providing a fun dining experience in the area.

    For more of your everyday needs, Woodmar Farm is only a short drive to grocery stores such as Harris Teeters, Giant Foods, and Shoppers. Residents also have banks, doctors, and pharmacies close by.
