Nearly 25 miles west of the nation’s capital, Lansdowne is a planned community located a few miles from Leesburg, Virginia. After recent zoning changes, the Lansdowne area has been declared a census-designated place, meaning that Lansdowne is now considered an incorporated town as opposed to a general area. Lansdowne, found south of the Potomac River and north of State Route 7, this area features several recreational and vacation areas that are popular with both in-state and out-of-state visitors.
For the outdoors types, there is a section of the well-known Heritage Trail that runs through parts of Lansdowne. Lansdowne Resort, a premiere vacation destination in Leesburg, is a very popular sport for residents who would like to “get away” without going too far way.
Due in part to its incorporation, Lansdowne has two major homeowners’ associations that represent almost 3,000 homes in the area. Lansdowne on the Potomac, covers homes in the Potomac Station community and Riverside Parkway while the Lansdowne Village Green covers the Lansdowne Town Center area and the Lansdowne Country Club Golf Course.
